About a decade ago, most people thought of Korean branded cars as nothing but cheap, low-quality alternatives to the more established but also more expensive Japanese, American or European makes.
That perception is slowly beginning to change. Over the past few years, the Koreans have stepped up their game and have begun producing better vehicles, with quality, reliability, and design that could match or sometimes even surpass those of their more recognized competitors.
Of course, there are still people out there who believe that Korean cars are only for people who can’t afford American, European or even Japanese cars. For those people, Hyundai brings out the Genesis.
The Genesis is Hyundai’s latest and possibly greatest creation yet. Available now is the sedan version, which is powered by either a 3.8 liter V6 or an even more powerful 4.6 liter V8. The standard features rivals those of the German luxury makes, including a navigation system, back-up and blind spot cameras, a 14-speaker sound system, basically all the bells and whistles one expects in a luxury sedan. And the best part is that the price of entry severely undercuts the competition.
Yes, it may not be the best…yet. But for Hyundai, the Genesis is just the beginning.
